The human brain needs sugar

to function, like honey bees.

We live in a hive,

under various influences.

“No man is an island,” they say.

I have drunk the Cool Aid of conspiracy theorists

who complain about conventional wisdom, women, education, and religion.

I have become radicalized, and rejected the faith.

I have been socialized and escaped society, holding-up in a small room with my fragmented beliefs.

“You can’t be a rebel forever,” they said

and I realized, I was rejecting them, by not joining them

for fear of being rejected myself.

I wasn’t original. I was shopping around.

Then I went to their cult and took communion

and their Cool Aid was sweet.

I became like them—all knowing…

critical of the masses.
