They wrap themselves in different disguises
a spiritual cloth
My paranoia is very real
because their presence
conceals an ugliness
like a veil
shielding
false purity
the worst betrayal
they speak with authority, but they have none
a blank face
like a shield
for a two-dimensional
understanding
that can’t stand on its own
the rules won’t liberate them
they are a creative rule creator
hemming themselves in
with deceptive cloth
forcing the law
at the top
where there is more power
but less freedom.
Just Poetry 
The clergy? Rabbis? An Imam? Or merely one who proselytizes his dull and misguided dogma?

Yes, I am no big fan. Although I have come across the occasional wonderful and genuine cleric. Most are mealy mouthed god-bothers or worse
