I like to walk in the summer heat
when the sun goes down
I feel wild at night
like a half-starved coyote
that doesn’t know why he’s hungry.
Maybe its lost dreams
or lost women
but the woods whisper my name
just the same
and I keep searching for things in the dark.
Different people walk the night
I used to be scared of them
but now I am one of them
The forest is full of shadows
and the moon shines overhead
When the world is warmer
it feels like you can soak in it
and all the things you love to do
become a part of you
I love the darkness
and I love the heat
But in no time
the night becomes tame
Wild Things join the day
They go to jobs
They act a certain way
but they can’t wait
to become wild again
Love the starved coyote reference
