We need constants in our life. Things can quake, rise and fall, but we can always turn to our constants. We don’t have to hold onto them because they are always with us. They will never leave. If they do go, you might as well be dead. My biggest constant is writing or the thing that happens when I write. It is the feeling I get when I learn to enjoy everything, but I don’t need everything. I play my own music and go to my own places. I like to think that some books were written just for me or there are people I know, even though I don’t know them. I decide what is important and I change for it. My constants keep me company and they free me from worry. If I can’t hold onto things, my constants don’t care. They rejoice when things are lost.
